Create crispy, spicy Buffalo Cauliflower Wings using your air fryer. This recipe offers a satisfying vegetarian alternative to traditional wings, perfect for snacking or game day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (or vegan butter)
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the water and mix until you have a thin batter. Do not overmix.
  4. Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, letting excess drip off.
  5. Place the battered florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.
  7. While the cauliflower cooks, prepare the sauce: Whisk together the melted butter, hot sauce, and vinegar in a small bowl.
  8. Once the cauliflower is cooked, transfer the hot florets to a large bowl.
  9. Pour the buffalo sauce over the cauliflower and toss gently to coat completely.
  10. Return the coated wings to the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to set the sauce.
  11. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For an extra crispy coating, you can skip the wet batter step and instead toss the florets with olive oil, then dredge them in a mixture of flour, salt, and pepper before air frying.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce to control the spice level for your taste.
  • Serve these wings with a side of vegan ranch or blue cheese dressing.
