Ingredients
Scale
6 slices thick bread (like brioche or challah)
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk (any kind)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for batter)
1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
Cooking spray
Instructions
Cut each bread slice lengthwise into three equal sticks.
In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon granulated sugar for the batter.
Dip each bread stick into the batter, ensuring both sides are coated. Let excess drip off briefly.
In a separate shallow dish, mix the 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon for the coating.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
Arrange the battered sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; work in batches if necessary.
Spray the tops of the sticks lightly with cooking spray.
Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
Immediately toss the hot sticks in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
Serve warm with maple syrup or your preferred dip.
Notes
Use slightly stale bread for the best texture.
For a make-ahead option, freeze cooked sticks on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag. Reheat in the air fryer directly from frozen at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes.
If you prefer a creamier center, lightly toast the bread slices before dipping them in the batter.
