Cook salmon fillets in the air fryer for a quick weeknight meal. This method yields a crispy exterior and a flaky, juicy interior using simple lemon garlic butter seasoning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice, fresh
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve a crispy exterior.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, melted butter, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper to create the seasoning mixture.
  3. Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  4. Brush the seasoning mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  5. Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  7. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, place the salmon skin-side down in the basket and cook for the full time.
  • If your fillets are very thick (over 1.5 inches), you may need to reduce the temperature slightly to 380°F (195°C) and cook for 13-15 minutes to prevent the outside from burning.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary to maintain airflow.
