Ingredients
Scale
1 (8 ounce) wheel of brie cheese
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 cup dried figs, chopped
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon orange zest
Pinch of salt
Crackers or baguette slices for serving
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Place the wheel of brie on a small, oven-safe dish or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, figs, water, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, orange zest, and salt.
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for about 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries have popped and the mixture has thickened into a jam.
Remove the jam from the heat and let it cool slightly.
Bake the brie for 10 to 12 minutes, or until it is soft and warm inside.
Remove the brie from the oven. Spoon the warm cranberry fig jam generously over the top of the brie.
Serve immediately with crackers or sliced baguette for dipping.
Notes
You can prepare the jam a day ahead and gently reheat it before topping the brie.
For extra richness, you can lightly score the top rind of the brie before baking.
Consider adding a sprig of fresh rosemary to the jam for an added aromatic touch.
