Make restaurant-quality, flaky salmon fillets with a sweet and savory honey garlic butter glaze using this quick oven-baked method.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 oz) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a better texture. Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle the salmon evenly with olive oil, then season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, melted butter, minced garlic, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice to create the glaze.
  5. Spoon or brush half of the honey garlic butter glaze evenly over the tops of the salmon fillets.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Remove the salmon from the oven. Brush the remaining glaze over the hot fillets.
  8. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For crispy skin, place the salmon skin-side down on a wire rack set over the baking sheet before baking.
  • If you prefer a thicker glaze, you can simmer the glaze mixture on the stovetop for 2 minutes until slightly reduced before brushing it on.
  • This recipe works well for air frying; cook at 380°F (195°C) for 10-12 minutes.
