Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 or 85/15 recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 small flour tortillas (taco size)
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped white onion
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle slices, thinly sliced or chopped
  • Big Mac Sauce (recipe below)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for cooking

Big Mac Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped dill pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Divide the seasoned beef into 8 equal portions.
  3. For each taco, take one portion of beef and flatten it thinly onto one side of a flour tortilla, spreading it almost to the edges.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  5. Place 4 tortillas, beef-side down, in the hot skillet. Smash the beef firmly with a spatula to create a thin patty that adheres to the tortilla.
  6. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked through. The tortilla side will become lightly crispy.
  7. Flip the tacos and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the tortilla side until lightly golden and crispy.
  8. Remove from skillet and set aside. Repeat with remaining beef and tortillas.
  9. While tacos are cooking, prepare the Big Mac Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, yellow mustard, white vinegar, pickle relish, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and sugar until smooth.
  10. To assemble the tacos, spread a generous amount of Big Mac Sauce on the beef side of each cooked tortilla.
  11. Top with shredded lettuce, chopped white onion, and pickle slices.
  12. Fold the tacos in half. Garnish with sesame seeds, if desired.
  13. Serve immediately and enjoy your Big Mac Smash Tacos.
