  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare chocolate cake according to package directions. Let cool completely.
  2. Cut cake into 1-inch cubes.
  3. In a large bowl, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Chill.
  4. In a saucepan, whisk together milk, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and cocoa powder. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat.
  5. Stir in chopped semi-sweet and dark chocolate until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  6. In a trifle dish, layer chocolate cake cubes, chocolate pudding, and whipped cream. Repeat layers.
