Ingredients
Scale
2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling
1 cup caramel sauce
1 (15.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Pour the apple pie filling into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread evenly.
Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apple pie filling.
Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the apple and caramel layers.
Pour the melted butter over the cake mix layer, covering as much as possible.
Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
You can use fresh sliced apples (about 6-8 medium apples) instead of canned pie filling. Toss them with 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon before adding to the dish.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
