Make pizzeria-style Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks at home. These breadsticks are buttery, cheesy, and incredibly satisfying. They are the perfect side for any Italian meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. If using refrigerated dough, let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  3. Roll or stretch the pizza dough into a rough rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Cut the dough into strips, about 1 inch wide. You should have 12 to 16 strips.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, oregano, and salt.
  6. Brush the butter mixture generously over both sides of the dough strips.
  7. Arrange the strips on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges start to turn light golden brown.
  9. Remove the pan from the oven. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the breadsticks.
  10. Return to the oven and bake for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese immediately after removing from the oven.
  12. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, brush the breadsticks with a little extra garlic butter just before serving.
  • You can twist the dough strips before baking for a bakery look.
  • Serve with your favorite marinara sauce for dipping.
