Churro cheesecake bars combine the crisp, cinnamon-sugar goodness of churros with the creamy texture of cheesecake. This dessert features a cheesecake filling layered between cinnamon-sugar crescent roll dough, baked into delicious bars.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pinching seams together to form a solid crust.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined and creamy.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough in the baking dish.
  6. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and carefully place it on top of the cream cheese layer, pinching seams together.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon.
  8. Brush the melted butter evenly over the top layer of crescent roll dough.
  9. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture generously over the melted butter.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheesecake is set.
  11. Let the bars cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting and serving.

Notes

  • Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature for a smooth filling.
  • Cooling the bars completely is important for clean slices.
  • These bars can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
