Make an easy and comforting dessert using store-bought cinnamon rolls and sweet apples. This Cinnamon Roll Apple Cobbler delivers warm spices and a gooey texture perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
  • 3 medium apples (like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the sliced apples with the granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg until coated.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Dot the top of the apples with the small pieces of butter.
  5. Pour the water evenly over the apples.
  6. Open the cinnamon roll package. Separate the rolls and place them on top of the apple layer, leaving a little space between them. Do not separate the icing packets yet.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the apple filling is bubbly.
  8. Remove the dish from the oven. Immediately drizzle the icing packets over the warm rolls.
  9. Let the cobbler cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can use any firm, slightly tart apple variety for the best texture.
  • If you prefer a less sweet topping, skip drizzling the icing over the top and serve the icing on the side.
  • This dessert is wonderful served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
