A delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert, this Tiramisu recipe incorporates warm fall spices like pumpkin and cinnamon for a comforting autumn-themed treat. It’s perfect for cozy gatherings or a special indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using). Set aside.
  2. In a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar. Cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture is pale yellow and thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the softened mascarpone cheese, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gently fold the cooled egg yolk mixture into the mascarpone-pumpkin mixture until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone-pumpkin mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are moistened but not soggy.
  8. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  9. Spread half of the mascarpone-pumpkin cream mixture evenly over the ladyfingers.
  10. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream mixture.
  11. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
  12. Before serving, dust the top generously with cocoa powder.

Notes

  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso.
  • If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, you can make your own by combining cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves.
  • Ensure your mascarpone cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Chill the tiramisu thoroughly to achieve the best texture.
