Make the creamy, tangy Italian dressing served at Olive Garden restaurants using simple ingredients at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine the mayonnaise, water, white wine vinegar, Parmesan cheese, sugar, Dijon mustard, oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
  2. Whisk all ingredients together until the dressing is completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Taste the dressing and adjust salt or sugar if needed for your preference.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dressing for at least 1 hour before serving. This allows the flavors to fully meld.
  5. Whisk again briefly before pouring over your salad.

Notes

  • For a thinner consistency, add water one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired pourable texture.
  • Store the finished dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It keeps well for up to one week.
  • If you prefer a sharper tang, slightly increase the amount of white wine vinegar.
