Make this festive Cranberry Apple Cider Sangria for your next gathering. This recipe combines red wine with seasonal cranberry and apple flavors for a warm, welcoming holiday drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 large apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, apple cider, brandy, and orange liqueur. Stir gently.
  2. Add the sliced apple, sliced orange, cranberries, and cinnamon sticks to the pitcher.
  3. Stir the mixture once more to combine the fruit and liquids.
  4. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. When ready to serve, stir the sangria again. Serve over ice in wine glasses. Garnish each glass with a few cranberries or a slice of the fruit.

Notes

  • We suggest using a medium-bodied red wine like Merlot or Zinfandel for this recipe.
  • For an extra festive touch, use frozen cranberries to help keep the sangria cold without over-diluting it.
  • If you prefer a less boozy drink, you can reduce the brandy slightly.
