Make tender, juicy steak bites effortlessly in your slow cooker. This easy crockpot steak recipe uses sirloin steak and a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for a simple weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sirloin steak into your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the steak evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss gently to coat the steak pieces.
  3. Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the steak.
  4. Cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours, or on HIGH for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the steak is tender.
  5. About 15 minutes before serving, stir in the pieces of butter until they melt and create a light sauce. Add the minced garlic during this time.
  6. Stir everything together gently. Serve the crockpot steak bites immediately over mashed potatoes or rice, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir it into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • This recipe works well with other cuts like chuck roast, but sirloin provides the best steak bite texture.
