Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
  • 1/2 cup Firecracker sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Mexican crema
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the shredded chicken with the Firecracker sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, and salt until fully coated.
  3. Arrange the tortilla chips in a single layer on a large, oven-safe platter or baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle the Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses evenly over the chips.
  5. Distribute the sauced chicken mixture over the cheese layer.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove the nachos from the oven.
  8. Top immediately with diced red onion and diced jalapeños, if using.
  9. Drizzle the sour cream or crema over the top.
  10. Sprinkle with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice before serving warm.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of Firecracker sauce to control the spice level.
  • For a richer flavor, use rotisserie chicken instead of cooking your own.
  • If you prefer extra crunch, lightly toast the chips before adding toppings.
