These ham and cheese pinwheels are a simple, crowd-pleasing appetizer or lunch idea. They are easy to make and perfect for parties or quick meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 (10-inch) flour tortillas
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced deli ham
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced cheddar or provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
  2. Lay out a tortilla on a clean surface. Spread about 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire surface of the tortilla.
  3. Arrange a layer of ham slices over the cream cheese, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Place a layer of cheese slices over the ham.
  5. Starting from one end, tightly roll the tortilla into a log.
  6. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and fillings.
  7. Wrap each rolled tortilla log tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, to allow them to firm up.
  8. Once chilled, unwrap the tortilla logs. Using a sharp knife, slice each log into 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick pinwheels.
  9. Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use large, fresh tortillas that are pliable.
  • You can customize the filling by adding finely chopped chives, green onions, or a sprinkle of paprika for extra flavor.
  • These pinwheels can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
  • If you prefer, you can use different types of deli meat, like turkey or roast beef.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy spreading.
