Make these simple, baked ham and cheese sliders using sweet Hawaiian rolls and a flavorful honey mustard glaze for a quick appetizer or meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12 count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced deli ham
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the entire package of Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping the rolls connected in one piece. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Layer the ham evenly over the bottom rolls. Top the ham with the slices of Swiss cheese. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce to create the glaze.
  5. Brush the entire top surface of the rolls generously with the honey mustard glaze mixture. Sprinkle the poppy seeds evenly over the top.
  6. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the tops of the rolls are golden brown.
  8. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing between the rolls and serving hot.

Notes

  • You can assemble these sliders up to 4 hours ahead of time; cover and refrigerate until ready to bake. Add 5 minutes to the initial covered baking time if baking straight from the refrigerator.
  • Use provolone or cheddar cheese if you prefer a different flavor profile than Swiss.
  • For extra flavor, add a thin layer of mayonnaise or yellow mustard to the bottom half of the rolls before adding the ham.
