Transform your leftover holiday turkey into fun and flavorful Holiday Turkey Wonton Tacos. This recipe uses wonton wrappers as a quick taco shell substitute for a festive twist on taco night.
1/4 cup turkey gravy or sauce (optional, for flavor)
1/4 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar or Monterey Jack)
Toppings: Cranberry sauce, chopped green onions, shredded lettuce
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a muffin tin.
Gently press each wonton wrapper into the cups of the muffin tin, creating a small taco shell shape. You may need to gently fold or crimp the edges.
Bake the wonton shells for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crisp. Watch them closely to prevent burning.
While the shells bake, toss the shredded turkey with the gravy or sauce, if using. Heat the turkey mixture gently in a small skillet over medium heat until warmed through.
Carefully remove the baked wonton shells from the muffin tin.
Fill each crispy wonton shell with a spoonful of the warm turkey mixture.
Top each taco with shredded cheese, a small dollop of cranberry sauce, and a sprinkle of green onions and lettuce.
Serve immediately and enjoy your creative use of leftovers.
Notes
You can use any leftover holiday sauce or seasoning you have on hand instead of gravy.
For extra crispiness, lightly brush the edges of the wonton wrappers with melted butter before baking.
If you do not have gravy, a splash of chicken broth mixed with the turkey works well.
