Make a coffee shop quality iced mocha featuring coconut flavor and topped with homemade cold foam.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots espresso (or 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 1/2 cup cold milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut syrup
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup or mocha sauce
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • For the Cold Foam: 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon cold milk
  • 1 teaspoon coconut syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the coffee: Brew your espresso or strong coffee. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Mix the base: In a tall glass, combine the cooled coffee, 1/2 cup cold milk, 2 tablespoons coconut syrup, and chocolate syrup. Stir well until combined.
  3. Add ice: Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  4. Make the cold foam: In a small bowl or using a handheld milk frother, combine the heavy cream, 1 tablespoon cold milk, and 1 teaspoon coconut syrup. Whisk or froth vigorously until the mixture thickens and holds soft peaks. This takes about 1 to 2 minutes with a frother.
  5. Assemble the drink: Gently spoon the prepared cold foam over the top of the iced coffee mixture. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use full-fat canned coconut milk for a richer flavor in the base, but use standard cold milk for the foam to help it stabilize better.
  • For the best cold foam texture, keep all foam ingredients very cold before whipping.
  • If you do not have a frother, you can shake the foam ingredients hard in a sealed jar until thickened.
