Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Tilapia fillets
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups Cooked white rice

Instructions

  1. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter with the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not let it brown.
  4. Place the tilapia fillets in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat. Pour the fresh lemon juice over the fish.
  6. Sprinkle the lemon zest and chopped parsley over the tilapia.
  7. Serve the Lemon Butter Tilapia immediately over the cooked white rice.

Notes

  • You can substitute tilapia with cod or flounder if needed.
  • For extra brightness, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture.
  • Ensure your skillet is hot before adding the fish for a better sear.
