Whip up this bright and buttery Lemon Garlic Butter Shrimp for a quick and elegant seafood dinner. It’s simple, flavorful, and ready fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat. Pour in the fresh lemon juice and stir in the lemon zest. Toss the shrimp to coat evenly in the sauce.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Garnish generously with fresh chopped parsley before serving immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure your shrimp are completely dry before seasoning. This helps them sear instead of steam.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan; cook the shrimp in batches if necessary to maintain high heat.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with crusty bread to soak up the extra sauce.
