4 cups Apple Cider
1/2 cup Bourbon
2 tablespoons Maple Syrup
1 Cinnamon Stick
2 Star Anise pods
Orange slices for garnish
Instructions
Combine apple cider, bourbon, maple syrup, cinnamon stick, and star anise in a saucepan.
Heat the mixture over medium heat until it is steaming but not boiling.
Simmer gently for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Remove from heat and discard the cinnamon stick and star anise.
Pour the hot cider into mugs.
Garnish each serving with an orange slice.
Notes
Adjust the amount of maple syrup to suit your preferred sweetness level.
If you prefer a stronger spice flavor, you can gently muddle the star anise before adding it.
For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the bourbon.
