Maple Pecan Blondies are a chewy cookie-bar dessert. They feature rich maple syrup and toasted pecans. These blondies are a simple autumn treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and maple syrup until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the toasted pecans.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Let the blondies cool completely in the pan before lifting out and cutting into squares.

Notes

  • To toast pecans, spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until fragrant. Watch them closely to prevent burning.
  • Blondies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
