Enjoy these Maple Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Pecans. This recipe gives you a perfect balance of sweet maple syrup and savory, caramelized sprouts with a satisfying nutty crunch from toasted pecans. It’s a side dish that even skeptical eaters will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, maple syrup, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated.
  3. Spread the coated sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  4. Roast for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove the pan from the oven. Sprinkle the pecan halves over the sprouts. Gently toss them together on the pan.
  6. Return the pan to the oven and roast for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the sprouts are tender and slightly caramelized and the pecans are fragrant.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your view from the kitchen!

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can halve the sprouts stem-side down before tossing.
  • Taste the maple syrup; if it is very dark, it might be stronger, so you may use slightly less.
  • You can substitute walnuts or slivered almonds for pecans if needed.
