Create charming mini cheesecakes in individual jars. This recipe is perfect for parties, gifts, or a special treat for yourself. They are easy to make and impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 4 oz graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Optional: Fruit topping or whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
  4. Stir in the sour cream until the mixture is smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press about 1 tablespoon of this mixture into the bottom of each small jar.
  6. Pour the cheesecake batter over the graham cracker crust, filling each jar about two-thirds full.
  7. Place the jars in a baking dish and add hot water to the dish, creating a water bath. The water should come halfway up the sides of the jars.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly jiggly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the cheesecakes cool in the water bath for about 30 minutes.
  10. Remove the jars from the water bath and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
  11. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  12. Top with your favorite fruit or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure your cream cheese is fully softened for a smooth batter.
  • Do not overmix the cheesecake batter.
  • Let the cheesecakes cool gradually to prevent cracking.
  • These can be made a day in advance.
