Make fun mummy hot dogs for Halloween parties. Wrap hot dogs in dough to look like mummies. This recipe is simple for a spooky, kid-friendly appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls or pizza dough
  • 10 frankfurters or hot dogs
  • Cooking spray
  • Mustard or ketchup for decorating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough or pizza dough. If using crescent rolls, press seams together to form a sheet.
  3. Cut the dough lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Wrap one strip of dough around each hot dog, starting at one end and spiraling down to the other, leaving a small gap for the “face.”
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  7. Carefully remove from the oven. Using mustard or ketchup, dab two dots for eyes on the unwrapped part of each hot dog.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy your spooky mummies!

Notes

  • Use full-sized hot dogs or cocktail wieners for smaller mummies.
  • For extra flavor, brush the dough with melted butter or an egg wash before baking.
  • Leftover mummy hot dogs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave.
