Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the Parmesan cheese, panko bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another shallow dish, place the flour.
  4. In a third shallow dish, whisk the egg.
  5. Dredge each pork chop first in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  6. Next, dip the floured pork chop into the beaten egg, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  7. Finally, press the egg-coated pork chop into the Parmesan-panko mixture, coating both sides evenly.
  8. Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  9. Sear the coated pork chops for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  10. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
  11. Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the chops.
  12. Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra crispy coating, you can lightly toast the panko bread crumbs before mixing them with the Parmesan cheese.
  • Ensure your pork chops are at room temperature before cooking for more even results.
  • Feel free to add your favorite herbs like parsley or thyme to the breadcrumb mixture.
