Bake rich, fudgy brownies topped with cool, refreshing peppermint crunch. This festive mash-up is the perfect holiday showstopper.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and granulated sugar together until combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing only until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. The edges should look set, but the center should still be slightly soft.
  9. Remove the pan from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the white chocolate chips evenly over the top. Let them sit for 5 minutes to soften.
  10. Sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies over the melted white chocolate.
  11. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment overhang.
  12. Cut into squares and serve your crowd-pleasing dessert.

Notes

  • For extra fudgy texture, slightly underbake the brownies.
  • Ensure your peppermint candies are crushed finely for even topping distribution.
  • Use high-quality cocoa powder for the best chocolate flavor.
