Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt and black pepper to taste
8 small corn or flour tortillas
1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (plus more for garnish)
1/4 cup thinly sliced red cabbage
1/4 cup diced avocado
Instructions
In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from the skillet.
In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream (or yogurt), lime juice, and chopped cilantro to make the crema.
Warm the tortillas according to package directions (either in a dry skillet or wrapped in a damp paper towel in the microwave).
Assemble the tacos: Divide the shrimp among the tortillas. Top with sliced red cabbage, diced avocado, and a drizzle of the lime crema.
Garnish with extra cilantro and serve immediately.
Notes
Adjust cayenne pepper amount to control the spice level.
You can substitute grilled fish if you prefer.
For extra brightness, add a squeeze of fresh lime over the finished tacos.
