Ingredients
Scale
1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1/4 cup toasted pecans, roughly chopped
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet.
Roast for 15 to 20 minutes until the sprouts are tender and slightly caramelized.
While the sprouts roast, combine the minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup in a small saucepan.
Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until it simmers and reduces slightly, about 3 minutes. This makes your glaze.
Remove the sprouts from the oven. Drizzle the balsamic glaze evenly over the hot sprouts.
Toss gently to coat.
Sprinkle the toasted pecans over the dish before serving immediately.
Notes
You can toast pecans quickly in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
For an extra layer of flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze mixture.
Hannah suggests tasting the glaze before adding it; adjust the maple syrup if your vinegar is very tart.
