Ingredients
Scale
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not let the garlic burn.
Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
Pour in the white wine or broth and lemon juice. Let it simmer and reduce slightly for about 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the fresh parsley.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure your shrimp are fully thawed and patted very dry for the best sear.
This shrimp pairs well with quick-cooking sides like angel hair pasta or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
You can substitute butter for half of the olive oil for a richer flavor.
