Follow this recipe to make easy, oven-baked Crispy Parmesan Chicken Tenders with a crunchy coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat it with cooking spray.
  2. Set up a standard breading station with three shallow dishes.
  3. In the first dish, place the flour. In the second dish, place the beaten eggs.
  4. In the third dish, combine the Panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Take one chicken tender and dredge it lightly in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  6. Dip the floured tender into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off.
  7. Press the tender firmly into the Parmesan-Panko mixture until it is completely coated.
  8. Place the coated tender on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining chicken.
  9. Lightly spray the tops of the coated tenders with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
  10. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, flipping the tenders halfway through, until they are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Notes

  • For an air fryer method, cook at 380°F (195°C) for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce ideas for chicken tenders.
  • You can substitute whole wheat flour for a slightly different texture.
