Make simple, chewy, high-protein bars at home with only five ingredients. These require no baking and are perfect for quick meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup vanilla or unflavored protein powder
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 2 tablespoons melted dark chocolate (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, peanut butter, protein powder, and maple syrup.
  3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until a thick, uniform dough forms. If the mixture is too dry, add one teaspoon of water at a time until it holds together.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Use the back of a spoon or your fingers to compact it firmly.
  5. Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the bars.
  6. Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until the bars are firm.
  7. Lift the bars out using the parchment paper overhang and cut them into 10 equal squares. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.
  • If you need a gluten-free bar, use certified gluten-free rolled oats.
  • You can substitute peanut butter with almond butter or sunflower seed butter for a different flavor.
