Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a little kick)
  • For the Glaze:
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve better texture. Place the salmon on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Brush this seasoning mixture evenly over the top and sides of the salmon fillets.
  4. Prepare the glaze: In another small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, smoked paprika, and oregano until fully combined.
  5. Brush about half of the glaze mixture evenly over the seasoned salmon fillets.
  6. Bake the salmon for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon is mostly cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Brush the remaining glaze over the salmon.
  8. Return the salmon to the oven and bake for another 2 to 3 minutes, or until the glaze is slightly caramelized and the salmon reaches your desired doneness. Watch carefully to prevent burning the honey.
  9. Serve your moist and juicy salmon immediately. We love pairing this with mashed potatoes or roasted asparagus for a complete, healthy fish dinner.

Notes

  • For crispy skin salmon, place the fillets skin-side down on a wire rack set over the baking sheet before seasoning. This allows air to circulate underneath.
  • If you prefer a sweeter glaze, increase the honey by one teaspoon.
  • This recipe works well for air fryer salmon too; cook at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, glazing halfway through.
